FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How is your Telehealth service different from other options available for men's sexual health issues?

Hammerhead Health offers on-demand consultations for tried and tested treatments for erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation, taking a holistic approach to men's health. Unlike other services, you will have the opportunity to speak directly with a real person, ensuring personalised care. Additionally, there are no expectations for clients to subscribe or pay any ongoing fees, as we believe in providing transparent and cost-effective solutions for men's sexual health concerns. We focus on root cause healing rather than simply prescribing medication for temporary relief.

Can prescriptions for medications be provided through telehealth consultations?

Yes, our General Practitioners and Nurse Practitioners can prescribe medications through telehealth consultations. During your virtual appointment, the clinician will evaluate your symptoms, medical history, and any previous treatments. If it's determined that medication is appropriate for your condition, a prescription can typically be sent electronically to your preferred pharmacy. However, please note that the final decision on prescribing medication will always be based on the clinician’s professional discretion and in accordance with medical guidelines and regulations.

How do you assess sexual function?

During a telehealth consultation for male sexual dysfunction, several assessments can be performed remotely:

1. Detailed Medical History Review:
The clinician will conduct an in-depth discussion about your medical history, including any existing health conditions, medications, and symptoms.
2. Lifestyle and Psychological Assessment:
Questions regarding your lifestyle, stress levels, mental health, and relationship factors that might affect sexual function will be asked.
3. Symptom Discussion:
A thorough exploration of your symptoms, including onset, frequency, and severity of sexual dysfunction.
4. Questionnaires:
Standardized questionnaires such as the International Index of Erectile Function (IIEF) can be completed to help assess the severity and impact of the dysfunction.
5. Laboratory Orders:
Based on the telehealth evaluation, the clinician may order lab tests such as blood work to check hormone levels, blood glucose, haemoglobin, minerals and lipid profile. These tests would often need to be completed at a local lab facility, but the results can be reviewed remotely.

What can I expect from a consultation with your service?

During a consultation with our service, you can expect a personalised approach to understand the root cause of your sexual dysfunction issues. Our experienced healthcare providers will work with you to develop a treatment plan that focuses on long-term solutions, rather than just prescribing medication as a quick fix.

Will I have to take medication forever if I choose your Telehealth service?

Our goal is not to have you rely on medication indefinitely. We aim to address the underlying causes of erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, and delayed ejaculation through a holistic approach to men's health. Our treatments are designed to promote long-term healing and overall well-being, reducing the need for ongoing medication usage.

Is it possible to address the root cause of the sexual issue?

Absolutely! This is our intention and our goal! While it is easy to take medication, we are interested in addressing those factors reinforcing and maintaining sexual dysfunction in order to ensure you experience robust sexual health throughout your life.

How confidential are the consultations?

At Hammerhead Health, we take the privacy and confidentiality of your data seriously. Your data is managed using first-class security and confidentiality practices. We ensure that your data is stored securely and protected by 256-bit bank-grade security and encryption, meaning your records, notes, and payment information are safeguarded to the same level required by banks. Additionally, our staff can only access your information via two-factor authentication, and any sensitive information within patient profiles and clinical notes is either hidden or anonymised, prioritising the protection of your privacy throughout your journey with us.

I am single, can I still access treatment?

Yes, absolutely. Treatment at Hammerhead Health is available to individuals regardless of their relationship status. Your relationship status does not affect your access to care and treatment for male sexual dysfunction.

I'm not sure if my sexual issue is physical or psychological in nature. Can you help?

Of course. Hammerhead Health has a comprehensive assessment process that addresses both physical and psychological aspects of sexual issues. Our team of experts will work with you to determine the root cause of your problem and provide appropriate treatment based on your individual needs.

Is this a pay as you go service or a subscription-based service?

Our clinic is a pay-as-you-go service that offers real-time consultations with a registered health professional. All sessions are phone consultations. No one at Hammerhead Health will put the hard sell on you or charge you weekly, monthly or any type of ongoing fee. We are interested in treating the root cause of the sexual dysfunction, not merely treating symptoms.

Do you treat delayed ejaculation?

Of course. Delayed ejaculation is commonly defined as difficulty initiating ejaculation after more than 15 to 20 minutes of sex. It can often be equally, if not more distressing, than premature ejaculation.
